           HARVIA's story begins in Finland, the origin of sauna. In 1940, a pilot crashed into an icy lake one night due to bad weather. He miraculously climbed out of a pile of smoky metal and was not injured. His first thing he did was to go to the sauna. When the water was not put on an old and rusty Swedish stove, the young pilot found his goal in life: he would make a world-class sauna stove. This pilot is the founder of the HARVIA brand - Tapani Harvia.
